What qualifies for FADGI 3-star ratings?
The Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative (FADGI) is a benchmark of the high-quality digitisation standards required to ensure that your digital copies are as accurate as possible, from the tone and white balance to the metadata and digital noise. FADGI 4-star is the highest available of the available rankings at ‘Exemplary’, with FADGI 3-star being ‘Excellent’
Standardly, FADGI compliant equipment has a minimum of 300dpi and 24bits for colour imagery, and are capable of saving into archive-friendly accessible formats with minimal distortion and even lighting.
